I remember it well:  I was sitting cross-legged on the crappy beige carpet of our uptown Minneapolis "garden-level" apartment. My ancient laptop sat in front of me on our faux-mahogany coffee table and an ebook I'd recently purchased was next to me on the floor.  It was printed in black and white on the printer at my day job, on the back of used paper, and poorly stapled together.  It was the first time I'd invested money in my (then-imaginary) career as a web developer.

You needed a website.  You signed up for SquareSpace.   You spent many long nights adding photos and writing your bio.  You have customized this thing as much as you possibly can without learning how to actually code.    You are ready to launch your site. But before you go live....   ....let's not forget the cherry on top of the sundae.   What cherry?    The favicon.    What's a favicon?

Last week was a total design bonanza around here, as I designed seven logos in seven eight days. For free. Yowza. That's $3500 of work. Out the door. Did I mention the free part?    If you haven't been reading along, here's every entry in its full glory:  Overview of the project Day 1: My Spiral Motion

You guys, it's the LAST DAY.  I can't believe a) it's already over and b) I didn't die from too much Adobe Illustrator.     Catch up here if you're new to the #logochallenge: Overview of the project Day 1: My Spiral Motion Day 2: Carol Oyanagi

As you'll hear all about, Day 6 was a big contrast with Day 5's logo. Only one more to go.   Catch up here if you're new to the #logochallenge: Overview of the project Day 1: My Spiral Motion Day 2: Carol Oyanagi Day 3: Susan Marshall

Day 5 is upon us! Only two more logos after this.  New to the logo challenge? Catch up here:

You guys, I have two confessions: 1) I took yesterday off, and... 2) There are actually seven logos in the challenge.  Surprise! I got a little carried away.    What this means is we're on Day 4! If you're new to the logo challenge, here are a few links to catch up:  Overview of the project Day 1: My Spiral Motion

Whoo! DAY THREE! HALFWAY DONE!     If you're new to the logo challenge, here are a few links to catch up:  Overview of the project Day 1: My Spiral Motion Day 2: Carol Oyanagi   Meet the Client Name: Susan Marshall

The logo challenge proceeds apace and I begin to wonder if I lost my mind when I planned this out.  It's a bit like the week-long summer dance intensives I used to do: Totally overwhelming in the best possible way. Only difference is my mind is tired and sore instead of my body. Anyway, onward!       Meet the Client Name: Carol Oyanagi

Here we go! If you haven't heard about my five-logos-in-five-days challenge, here's a quick overview.  But let's get right to the first project:
